About Robb Stein

Principal Owner of Byrider

Robb Stein is an entrepreneur and business leader who has spent more than two decades building companies and investing in real estate. Raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, he developed a strong connection to the city and its community early in life. Over the years, his professional path has combined business leadership with community engagement. While managing several companies, he has remained involved in charitable work and civic activities that support local organizations and residents.

Role in Automotive Retail

Robb is the principal owner of the Cincinnati Byrider location, part of a national dealership network that focuses on selling inspected and reconditioned vehicles. The dealership also offers in-house financing programs designed to help customers establish or rebuild their credit. These programs report payment activity to the major credit bureaus, helping customers gradually strengthen their financial standing. Across the United States, more than 1 million individuals have relied on Byrider dealerships to purchase vehicles and obtain financing that may not be available through traditional lenders.

Business Leadership and Corporate Operations

Beyond his role in automotive retail, Robert Stein serves as President of Derojo, Inc., a Cincinnati-based company that operates across several industries. The organization owns and manages auto dealerships, subprime finance companies, a real estate development group, and a reinsurance company. The company often focuses on identifying businesses in specialized markets that may benefit from additional investment and a stronger management structure. By combining financial support with operational improvements, the organization works to stabilize and strengthen these businesses.

Involvement in Reinsurance and Finance

Robert Stein, Cincinnati, also serves as Chairman of Card Sound Reinsurance Group. The company focuses on particular insurance exposures that may produce higher returns in more favorable tax environments. This role reflects a broader involvement in financial and risk-management sectors beyond the automotive industry.

Another major business responsibility involves Alford Motors, Inc., in Cincinnati. He is the President and owner of this company, which is recognized as the largest subprime auto dealer group. The business combines vehicle sales with financing options for individuals who may not qualify for bank or traditional lender loans. By offering both transportation access and financing options, the company provides an important option for customers seeking reliable vehicles while also helping them rebuild their credit history.

Dedication to Philanthropy

Outside of business operations, Robb Stein has remained active in philanthropy and community service throughout Cincinnati. One of his long-term commitments has been service on the Board of Directors of the StarShine Hospice program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. For nearly 10 years, he helped support the program’s mission to provide palliative care to children and young adults with serious illnesses. The program focuses on comfort, dignity, and meaningful support for families during difficult moments.

Supporting Disability Services and Health Initiatives

Stein also served on the board of Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled (LADD) for four years. The organization helps adults with developmental disabilities live independently while providing education, employment support, and life skills training. Through these services, individuals are encouraged to build stronger connections within their communities.

His volunteer efforts also include many years of involvement with the American Heart Association. Since 2001, he has supported the organization’s efforts to raise awareness of heart health. He helped create the Young Professional committee and founded the Heart Ball after-party, later serving as its chair while contributing to several leadership initiatives that supported fundraising efforts.

Community Outreach and Volunteer Service

Robb also played a leadership role in Fall Feast Cincinnati, serving as a former co-chair and member of its steering committee for more than a decade. Each Thanksgiving, the event brings together more than one thousand volunteers who provide meals, coats, and access to services for thousands of individuals in need throughout the city. The event also provides medical support and personal care services for attendees.

Education and Personal Interests

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. Outside of business and community service, he enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. His hobbies include golf, skiing, boating, and hiking. He has also taken part in endurance challenges, including completing the 29029 Everesting Challenge in Jackson Hole and later summiting Mount Rainier. Through both professional leadership and community involvement, Robb Stein remains connected to Cincinnati and the people it serves.
